"Seabreeze" |
|

Beneteau, Patience and Pawakan |
| I
spent almost four years in the Philipines and still
only got to see a few of the seven thousand islands
that make up this diverse and beautiful area. Fortunately,
I did make several trips to the magic island of Siargao.
In 2004, I managed the Marlin Bar at Cebu Yacht Club
and lived aboard "Seabreeze", pictured above
left, eventually hitching a ride home to Australia on
board M.V. "Patience" (above right). Maybe
the person who coined the expression "ship of fools"
had "Patience" in mind as we blundered our
way down the Mindanao coast and through the east Indonesian
archipeligo on our way to Thursday Island, then down
the east coast to Mooloolaba. |
